2nd Annual Tequila & Mezcal Festival
Featuring Premiere Brands and Special Guests David Suro and Ron Cooper

Join us for the second annual Tequila & Mezcal Festival.  During the two-week celebrationof Mexico's most famous spirits, guests of Oyamel will be treated to the best in premium tequilas and mezcals with flights and innovative specialty cocktails. Head Chef Joe Raffa has crafted an inspired menu incorporating Mexico’s celebrated spirits. Oyamel also welcomes producers David Suro from Siembra Azul and Ron Cooper from Del Maguey who will host tastings in the Butterfly Bar and a six-course Chef’s Dinner as part of the Tequila & Mezcal Festival.  

COMPLIMENTARY TEQUILA TASTING

The celebration begins on Tuesday, March 3, with a complimentary tequila tasting hosted by David Suro, an internationally recognized expert in the production of tequila and founder of Siembra Azul. Siembra Azul’s prized premium tequilas are made from 100% blue agave and are produced in the highlands town of Arandas. The tasting will be held in Oyamel’s Butterfly Bar, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

CHEF'S DINNER

Join us on Wednesday, March 4 at 7:30 pm for a Chef’s Dinner hosted by David Suro and Ron Cooper. The six-course menu with tequila and mezcal pairings features all the special menu items created for the festival by Chef Raffa.  During the dinner, David Suro and Ron Cooper will share their experience producing spirits.

COMPLIMENTARY MEZCAL TASTING

On Thursday, March 5, guests will have the opportunity to sample Del Maguey’s rare, unblended mezcals with company founder Ron Cooper. Del Maguey’s single village mezcals have a complexity that makes them akin to fine brandies or single malt scotches. Cooper will conduct a complimentary tasting of Del Maguey’s award-winning mezcals including their rare Mezcal Pechuga, triple distilled with wild mountain apples, plaintains, almonds, plums and chicken breast at Oyamel’s Butterfly Bar, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
