Celebrate the Summer Season!

Summer is officially here and with it comes some of our favorite produce and seasonal ingredients. We’re celebrating the flavors of summer with Oyamel’s first ever Summer Fest, a week-long event featuring new specials from Chef Omar Rodriguez and beverage expert Azael Salgado.  

This year, Chef Omar will honor the incredible and delicious squash blossom with two different dishes. The Quesadilla de Flor de Calabaza is a traditional Mexican favorite of corn tortillas filled with squash blossoms, zucchini and requeson with a creamy salsa verde, while the Flor de Calabaza Frito a la Veracruzana is a Mexican take on a fried delicacy - crispy squash blossoms are filled with Pipe Dreams goat cheese, rajas and epazote served atop a salsa with tomato, serrano and capers. 

Of course, you can’t have a summer celebration without a cold drink. Our Watermelon Mojito is a refreshing blend of el dorado rum, watermelon, mint and lime. For the wine lovers, we’ll be featuring a 2021 Gruner Veltliner, a crisp white wine that pairs beautifully with Chef Omar’s delicate squash blossoms.
